Welcome to Holy Lady of Vladimir
Holy Lady of Vladimir Mission Station began in St. John's, NL on 03 September 2003. It began largely as a community of faithful Russian Orthodox who wished to participate fully in the Orthodox faith within their newly adopted Canadian home. Since then the congregation has grown to over 20 families of Slavic, Romainian, other traditionally Orthodox backgrounds, and westerners living in St. John's. Services are conducted in English and Slavonic, but Romanian, Greek and other languages are used frequently depending on the make up of faithful attending each service
The Holy Lady of Vladimir Mission Station is faithful in fulfilling the commandment of Christ to "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations." This does not mean proselytising, but rather making the facts of the Orthodox faith available to as many people as possible, and offering Orthodox Christians a place to worship and a means to express their faith. The parish offers the fundamental rituals of the Orthodox Church - the sacraments of baptism, confirmation (chrismation), eucharist, marriage, annointing, and commemoration of the departed to residents of St. John's. Our tiny outpost of Orthodoxy on the far eastern tip of North America welcomes Orthodox of all ethnic backgrounds living in , or travelling through, St. John's to worship with us. Individuals of all faiths are also welcome to experience Christianity as handed down by holy tradition for hundreds of years. Worship services are held at the Chapel on the Second Floor of Queen's College, Memorial University. It is located at 210 Prince Philip Drive in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. How To Find Us Services are held at The Chapel, 2nd Floor of Queens College, 210 Prince Phillip Drive, St. John's, NL
